PROJECT INTRODUCTION

Eight years ago, the CEO of one of Japan’s leading FDI manufacturing companies in Vietnam contacted Vietsoft to learn about and purchase Vietsoft Ecomaint (CMMS) Equipment and Maintenance Management software, used for managing the maintenance of machinery and equipment in their company. The challenge was how to maximize the profitability of their investments while ensuring smooth production, on-time delivery, consistent quality, and low production costs.

 

Vietsoft advised on transitioning from traditional asset and machinery management to digital technology. The goal was to increase productivity and reduce production costs by eliminating waste, minimizing downtime, reducing spare parts inventory, extending machine lifespan, and cutting maintenance costs. Regarding company size, the Japanese FDI spare parts manufacturing enterprise has over 640 equipments.

Number of users joining the software are:

    If 2017 is taken as the baseline for comparison, it can be seen that the number of equipment breakdown at the company has significantly decreased by 71.9% compared to before the software implementation.

  • The number of preventive maintenance work orders sharply increased from 1,222 in 2017 to 1,492 in 2019 (a 34.1% rise). This increase in preventive maintenance work orders in the early years indicates that the CMMS deployment has strengthened preventive maintenance activities, improving equipment efficiency and reducing the risk of major breakdowns.

  • As a result, the number of breakdown per device dropped from 6.06 failures/device in 2017 to 0.42 failures/device in 2023 (a 93.1% reduction).
