Ngoài chi phí tiền lương công nhân thấp hơn Việt Nam nhiều lần, nước này cũng có số nhà máy đạt chứng nhận LEED (về thiết kế năng lượng và môi trường) cao nhất thế giới. Vì vậy, tối ưu quy trình sản xuất để kéo giảm chi phí đang trở thành hướng đi tất yếu của dệt may Việt Nam.
Tại nhà máy của Công ty Trách nhiệm hữu hạn Việt Thắng Jean, nếu trước kia, cần tới 9 bước để có 1 mẫu sản phẩm quần jeans, thì nay rút xuống còn 3 bước. Những bước trong thiết kế lên mẫu, nhận phản hồi từ khách đều được số hóa. Giá thành sản phẩm vì thế sẽ trở nên cạnh tranh hơn.
“Bangladesh đang chuyển toàn bộ sang công nghệ cao và giá thành hiện nay cạnh tranh rất tốt. Nếu chúng ta may theo công nghệ truyền thống thì năng suất thấp, chất lượng không ổn định, tốc đọ về sản xuất không đáp ứng”, ông Phạm Văn Việt, Chủ tịch Hội đồng Quản trị – Công ty Trách nhiệm hữu hạn Việt Thắng Jean, cho biết.
Với yêu cầu xanh hóa, những quy định mới từ EU và Mỹ đang đặt ra ngày càng nhiều thách thức. Gần 100 thương hiệu thời trang hàng đầu đã cam kết công khai chỉ cung cấp nguồn nguyên liệu bền vững trong vài năm tới. Điều này đang tạo sức ép lớn với doanh nghiệp Việt Nam. Ví dụ như các quy định của Mỹ, hay châu Âu về tuổi thọ và tỷ lệ tái chế của hàng dệt may đều đòi hỏi cao hơn so với chuỗi cung ứng bông, sợi.
