Câu chuyện ERP hay chuyển đổi số của các doanh nghiệp dù được nhắc đến nhiều gần đây nhưng vẫn còn mới ở Việt Nam, do đó độ hoàn thiện của những phần mềm nội địa là chưa cao. Tuy vậy, không ít doanh nghiệp đã đi trước khá lâu và thành công với việc áp dụng hệ thống ERP chuẩn nước ngoài hoặc tự phát triển.
ERP là thuật ngữ viết tắt của “Enterprise Resource Planning” hay “Hệ thống hoạch định nguồn lực doanh nghiệp” trong tiếng Việt. Ban đầu, các hệ thống ERP chủ yếu phục vụ cho kế toán và quản lý sản xuất, với đối tượng sử dụng là doanh nghiệp sản xuất. Ngày nay, ERP được áp dụng bởi những công ty thuộc đa dạng ngành nghề, cung cấp giải pháp quản trị doanh nghiệp toàn diện từ kế toán, sản xuất, mua bán hàng, logistic cho đến xử lý và phân tích dữ liệu lớn (big data).

Trao đổi với CTCP Thế Giới Số (Digiworld, HOSE: DGW), vị đại diện cho biết DGW đã áp dụng ERP của Việt Nam từ 2002, vì ý thức được giá trị cốt lõi của nhà phân phối chính là logistic và quản lý tài chính (rất cần hỗ trợ của ERP). Tuy nhiên, Ban Lãnh đạo DGW nhận ra phần mềm nội địa sẽ không thể đáp ứng được mục tiêu nhảy vọt doanh số nên đã quyết định triển khai hệ thống ERP của SAP (Đức) từ năm 2009.
SAP, Oracle, Infor và Microsoft là 4 ông lớn chiếm gần một nửa tổng thị phần ERP toàn thế giới. VDSC cho biết ERP của 4 đơn vị này có bề dày lịch sử, đã áp dụng thành công nhiều nơi và có thể phục vụ cho nhiều ngành nghề đa dạng. Tuy nhiên, chi phí cho 1 dự án ERP của nhà cung cấp nước ngoài rất lớn (phí bản quyền, phí tư vấn, phí cho đơn vị triển khai). Theo một báo cáo của CTCK Bản Việt (VCSC), các lỗi số liệu này đã tác động đến quy trình sản xuất, việc tiếp nhận đơn hàng mới và phân bổ thành phẩm đến hệ thống cửa hàng, qua đó ảnh hưởng đến kết quả kinh doanh của PNJ.
Dù mọi việc đã dần trở lại quỹ đạo tại PNJ, sự cố kể trên cũng khiến công chúng bừng tỉnh nhận ra việc áp dụng một hệ thống ERP chuyên nghiệp (trường hợp này là SAP ERP) cho doanh nghiệp không hề dễ dàng như vẫn tưởng.
3. ERP – tại sao gian nan đến vậy?

Nếu người chịu trách nhiệm dự án ERP không phải là người tham gia trực tiếp điều hành công việc tại doanh nghiệp mỗi ngày thì sẽ không đủ kinh nghiệm (trải nghiệm hết các vấn đề tại doanh nghiệp) để đưa ra yêu cầu xử lý, thiếu sự thấu đáo và sâu sát thực tế dẫn đến nhiều trở ngại trong quá trình chuyển đổi.
