Most people, including ourselves at Vietsoft, have long believed that Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software is primarily for manufacturing industries. However, this perspective shifted dramatically when we were approached by the leadership of a leading international university in Binh Duong.
The collaboration with this university to digitize asset and maintenance management operations revealed that managing infrastructure assets at educational institutions is far more complex than managing equipment in a manufacturing plant. The complexity arises not only from the scale but also from the diverse nature of the equipment and maintenance requirements. Ineffective maintenance can significantly impact the quality of education and the safe educational environment that institutions must provide for their staff and students.
CUSTOMER INTRODUCTION
Our client is the first public international university in Vietnam, with an investment of USD 200 million, encompassing a total floor area of approximately 135,000 square meters in Ben Cat Town, Binh Duong. The university is a member of the global alliance of partner universities with Germany, consisting of 36 universities worldwide, and maintains strong collaboration with leading technical universities within Germany’s TU9 network.

The significant decrease not only saves costs but also boosts the availability and stability of the university’s facilities.
- 22.9% reduction in the ratio of Breakdown Work Orders /Total Work Orders: This clearly demonstrates the impact of effective preventive maintenance planning and execution. The university is gradually shifting from reactive maintenance to proactive maintenance tasks before failures occur, optimizing time and resources.
These positive results have been recognized by the university’s leadership as evidence of the project’s initial success.
