Tuy nhiên, theo ông Lê Hoàng Tài, Phó cục trưởng Cục Xúc tiến thương mại (Bộ Công Thương) thì kim ngạch xuất khẩu dệt may dù cao nhưng giá trị gia tăng còn ở mức thấp, ngành chưa chủ động được nguyên phụ liệu, năng suất lao động cũng thấp hơn các nước trong khu vực, trình độ công nghệ chỉ ở mức trung bình khá.
