Tại lễ kỷ niệm 25 năm thành lập Công đoàn Dệt May Việt Nam mới đây, Uỷ viên Trung ương Đảng, Chủ tịch Tổng Liên đoàn Lao động Việt Nam Nguyễn Đình Khang bày tỏ mong muốn trong thời gian tới, sẽ có nhiều hơn nữa các doanh nghiệp dệt may được tôn vinh vì người lao động; kỳ vọng hơn nữa là cộng đồng sẽ nhìn nhận về ngành Dệt May Việt Nam không chỉ là ngành đông lao động, mà là một ngành có chất lượng lao động cao và việc làm, đời sống tốt.
Chủ tịch Tổng Liên đoàn Lao động Việt Nam nhấn mạnh đây là một yếu tố rất nhân văn, thể hiện sự trân trọng và quan tâm của các cấp bộ Đảng, các cấp chính quyền và Công đoàn trong ngành đối với chủ thể của toàn bộ quá trình sản xuất kinh doanh – đó là người lao động.
Là người lao động của một trong những ngành công nghiệp đầu tiên của đất nước, đội ngũ công nhân lao động ngành dệt may đã trưởng thành lên từ phong trào đấu tranh cách mạng và trở thành lực lượng đông đảo, mạnh mẽ trong công cuộc bảo vệ, xây dựng và phát triển đất nước. Từ sự cần cù, khéo léo của những người thợ, cùng với sự đầu tư về công nghệ kĩ thuật và những chiến lược phát triển đúng đắn, trong những năm qua, ngành dệt may Việt Nam đã thu được nhiều kết quả đáng khích lệ, đứng trong tốp 3 quốc gia xuất khẩu hàng dệt may lớn nhất thế giới với kim ngạch xuất khẩu tới trên 40 tỉ USD/năm.
Nhưng cuộc cách mạng công nghiệp lần thứ tư cũng đang đặt ra nhiều thách thức. Hiện ngành Dệt May Việt Nam có 125 ngàn đoàn viên, người lao động. Để làm vượt qua những thách thức, đặc biệt là để ngành có chất lượng lao động cao và việc làm, đời sống tốt, Công đoàn Dệt May Việt Nam cần tuyên truyền, vận động đoàn viên, công nhân viên chức lao động thực hiện có hiệu quả Chương trình hành động số 02 ngày 20.7.2021 của Ban Chấp hành Tổng Liên đoàn Lao động Việt Nam về thực hiện Nghị quyết Đại hội XIII của Đảng và Nghị quyết số 02 của Bộ Chính trị; giáo dục lối sống, bồi dưỡng nâng cao năng lực thích ứng cho người lao động; tổ chức sâu rộng các phong trào thi đua lao động sản xuất, thực hiện tốt nhiệm vụ chính trị của mỗi cơ quan, đơn vị.
Để tiếp tục khẳng định là tổ chức đại diện lớn nhất, xứng đáng nhất của người lao động Dệt May, như Chủ tịch Tổng Liên đoàn Lao động Việt Nam đề nghị, Công đoàn Dệt May Việt Nam cần tập trung thực hiện thật tốt nhiệm vụ chăm lo, bảo vệ quyền và lợi ích hợp pháp, chính đáng của đoàn viên, người lao động. Hoạt động Công đoàn cần tập trung hướng về cơ sở, xây dựng đội ngũ cán bộ Công đoàn đủ mạnh, đội ngũ công nhân lao động thành thạo về kỹ năng, tay nghề.
