Công ty Cổ phần Cáp Nhựa Vĩnh Khánh, tiền thân của công ty là Xí nghiệp Tư Doanh Cao Su Nhựa Vĩnh Khánh được thành lập năm 1993 tại tỉnh Sông Bé (nay là tỉnh Bình Dương). Lĩnh vực hoạt động chính là sản xuất và kinh doanh ống nhựa phục vụ ngành bưu chính viễn thông.
Năm 1995, Xí nghiệp đổi tên thành Công ty TNHH Vĩnh Khánh với vốn điều lệ 5,3 tỷ VND.
Tháng 6 năm 2003, Vĩnh Khánh cổ phần hoá và đổi tên thành Công ty Cổ Phần Vĩnh Khánh với vốn điều lệ 85 tỷ đồng.
Ngày 20/10/2007, Công ty tăng vốn điều lệ là 105 tỷ sau khi phát hành cho cổ đông hiện hữu và cán bộ công nhân viên.
Năm 2008, Công ty đầu tư nghiên cứu sản phẩm mới cáp mạng LAN, trở thành nhà máy đầu tiên ở Việt Nam sản xuất các mặt hàng cáp, mạng LAN loại Slim và Flat, phục vụ cho thị trường xuất khẩu.
Ngày 20/10/2009, Công ty tăng vốn điều lệ lên 130 tỷ để mở rộng kinh doanh sau khi phát hành cho cổ đông hiện hữu.
Tháng 2/2010 Công ty chính thức trở thành nhà máy sản xuất cáp đầu tiên tại Việt Nam nhận chứng chỉ quốc tế UL (Underwriters Laboratories) và ETL (Edison TestiLaboratories) xuất khẩu sản phẩm cáp mạng vi tính sản xuất tại Việt Nam sang thị trường Nhật Bản.
Năm 2014, Vĩnh Khánh đạt mức doanh thu ấn tượng với 848 tỷ đồng, lợi nhuận sau thuế 11,37 tỷ đồng. Công ty được xếp hạng trong top 500 doanh nghiệp lớn nhất Việt Nam theo Vietnam Report. Trong cùng năm này, công ty cũng khai trương nhà máy mới trên tổng diện tích hơn 10.000 m2 có công suất 70.000 km dây viễn thông và 25.000 km dây thuê bao quang và các loại sản phẩm khác
Hiện nay, hoạt động kinh doanh chính của Công ty bao gồm sản xuất và kinh doanh vỏ xe, ống nhựa, cáp viễn thông, cáp sợi quang. Trong đó doanh thu từ lĩnh vực kinh doanh thương mại vỏ xe chiếm 68%, kinh doanh ống nhựa chiếm 20% tổng doanh thu của Công ty.
Thị trường hoạt động kinh doanh chủ yếu của Công ty tập trung ở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Nam Bộ. Vĩnh Khánh hiện là nhà phân phối độc quyền cho vỏ xe Cheng Shin Rubber suốt 22 năm qua. Ngoài ra, công ty là đại lý phân phối vỏ xe cho các hãng xe lớn trên thế giới như:, Maxxis, Michelin, Brigestone, Dunlop, Yokohama. Công ty cũng là nhà cung cấp chủ yếu cho các đơn vị viễn thông lớn như tập đoàn FPT, tập đoàn viễn thông thành phố Hồ Chí Minh và Hà Nội, Postel.
