Đây được coi là một nỗ lực rất lớn của toàn ngành trong bối cảnh tốc độ phục hồi của kinh tế thế giới có xu hướng chậm lại. Năm 2022, toàn ngành phấn đấu đạt kim ngạch xuất khẩu tăng khoảng 10% so với năm 2021, tương đương 43 tỷ USD.
Mặc dù chịu ảnh hưởng nặng nề của đại dịch Covid-19, đặc biệt trong quý 3 năm 2021 nhưng xuất khẩu dệt may của Việt Nam trong năm 2021 vẫn duy trì đà tăng trưởng tốt, đạt 39 tỷ USD. Giữ được vị trí trong top 3 các nước xuất khẩu dệt may và được nhiều tổ chức quốc tế đánh giá ở vị trí cao nhất trong cơ hội phục hồi năm 2022.
Theo ông Trương Văn Cẩm, Phó Chủ tịch Hiệp hội Dệt may Việt Nam, năm 2022, dự báo tình hình dịch bệnh trên thế giới và Việt Nam vẫn còn diễn biến phức tạp, khó lường, song đã có những tín hiệu tích cực từ thị trường.
