Theo báo cáo của Hiệp hội Dệt may Việt Nam (Vitas), trong 9 tháng năm 2021, tổng kim ngạch xuất khẩu hàng dệt may Việt Nam ước đạt 29 tỷ USD, tăng 13,2% so với cùng kỳ 2020, nhưng giảm 0,04% so với cùng kỳ 2019. Tuy vậy, Vitas dự báo 3 tháng cuối năm nay sẽ là khoảng thời gian cực kỳ khó khăn đối với ngành dệt may.

Theo Vitas, kết quả 9 tháng năm 2021 của ngành vẫn giữ được mức tăng trưởng khá so với cùng kỳ 2020 và gần năm 2019. Tuy nhiên, đây cũng là thời gian các doanh nghiệp dệt may trải qua nhiều khó khăn.
Cụ thể, từ đầu quý III/2021 đến nay là thời gian cực kỳ khó khăn với các doanh nghiệp với tình hình dịch kéo dài tại 19 tỉnh, thành phố phía Nam đã làm nhiều doanh nghiệp dệt may phải đóng cửa, ngừng sản xuất, sản xuất cầm chừng, không thực hiện được đơn hàng, phải giao hàng chậm, giao hàng bằng máy bay hoặc bị khách hàng hủy đơn hàng gây đứt gãy chuỗi cung ứng.

Theo Vitas, thời gian qua, phần lớn doanh nghiệp phải đóng cửa hoặc phải giảm tối thiểu từ 60- 70 % lao động do không đáp ứng được yêu cầu của “3 tại chỗ”, “1 cung đường, 2 địa điểm” hay “4 xanh”. Để hỗ trợ các doanh nghiệp dệt may ổn định sản xuất kinh doanh, ông Vũ Đức Giang, Chủ tịch Vitas cho rằng, bên cạnh việc tự cứu mình là chính, các doanh nghiệp cũng rất cần sự hỗ trợ của Chính phủ và các bộ, ngành, địa phương để vượt qua đại dịch.
